Overview

This 2-day workshop “Searching for Principles in Motor Control” will aim at bringing together the French scientific community working on humans and other animals, with approaches ranging from neurophysiology to human-machine interactions.

Alongside invited speakers, short talks selected from submitted abstracts will also be featured, together with poster presentations. 

The workshop will take place on the afternoon of the 23rd of September and the morning of the 24th of September at the Jussieu campus of Sorbonne University, in Paris.

Registration is free but mandatory, through this website, and limited to 140 participants. Coffee & cocktail food will be covered by the organisers!

  • Anne-Marie Heugas (Université Paris-Saclay): Influence of metabolic energy efficiency on the spatiotemporal characteristics of race walking
  • Aymar de Rugy (Université de Bordeaux): Hybrid sensorimotor control of a prosthetic arm
  • Antonio Carlos Costa (Institut du Cerveau, Paris): Quantifying motor strategies and variability in navigation 
  • Sarah Mondolini (Université de Lausanne): Serotonin release in the habenula during emotional contagion promotes resilience.

We will also have 8 speakers selected from submitted abstracts, and time for posters and networking.
